Every year the RAF Association holds its annual Grand Draw which is a national raffle and a valuable major source of fundraising income. It is distributed as inserts in magazines, personalised tickets, traditional ticket books and via direct mail, and has a number of different response mechanisms.
As an organisation we have always struggled to administer the incoming tickets and payments given the numbers involved. In 2008 we took the decision to use our lottery partner Sterling Group to process the returning draw tickets, and have never regretted the decision. Sterling process the ticket stubs and collect all of the supporters data, then run the draw for us. This frees up considerable resource for us and is a very cost effective way to collect and process existing supporters year on year and helps to identify our new supporters. Undoubtedly this is a valuable resource this is for the Association, the flexible support, knowledge and experience that we receive from Sterling make running this draw, cost effective, efficient and effortless.
These are difficult financial times and charities are finding it more and more challenging to raise that £ for their cause, so I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Sterling, to assist in running a raffle or draw.
